The Empowering Youth for Sustainable Aquaculture Markets and Job Creation Program supports young people to build sustainable and profitable livelihoods in aquaculture and mariculture. It addresses the challenge of limited access to skills, financing, and market opportunities in the aquaculture sector. The program provides training, access to financing, quality inputs, equipment, and digital platforms to help young people start or grow their businesses. Participants also learn climate-smart production practices that support sustainable growth. The program aims to help young people increase their income, create jobs, and build successful businesses in the aquaculture sector.
Opportunity Being Advertised
Applications are open for a free aquaculture and mariculture training and business support program for young women and men aged 18–35 years in Kakamega, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Busia, Siaya, and Kilifi counties.
Successful applicants will receive practical support in:
Aquaculture and mariculture production
Entrepreneurship and business development
Access to financing opportunities
Access to quality inputs, equipment, and digital platforms
Climate-smart production practices
Participants will also receive support to start or grow aquaculture businesses and access market opportunities.
Program activities will take place in Kakamega, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Busia, Siaya, and Kilifi counties.
No application fees are required.
