The Mastercard Foundation Youth Opportunity Hub is an online platform designed to connect young people (ages 18 – 35 years) with opportunities within the Mastercard Foundation programs. Mastercard Foundation works with different partners to implement programs under its Young Africa Works strategy which seek to enable young people to access dignified and fulfilling work. The hub serves as a central place where you can find information on all programs supported by the Foundation in the country, as well as current opportunities within the programs that young people can enroll in to be linked to work opportunities.
The Youth Opportunity Hub was created to provide a platform where the Mastercard Foundation programs are easily accessible to young people so that they can register for and benefit from them. Having all the programs in one place makes it easy for young people who are targeted by the programs to identify opportunities of interest and apply.
The Mastercard Foundation Youth Opportunity Hub can be accessed via:
Web: Users can access the platform through any web browser by visiting the https://youthopportunityhub.mastercardfdn.org
Mobile App: Users can download the official Mastercard Foundation Youth Opportunity Hub mobile app from Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
USSD: Users without internet access can access basic functionalities of the platform through USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) by dialing a *789*444# shortcode on their mobile phones.
Mastercard Foundation programs seek to enable young people to access work opportunities, be it self-employment or formal jobs. The programs are in different sectors, including agribusiness, digital, education, and financing of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) among others.
Mastercard Foundation works with partners to implement programs that support and empower young people (ages 18 – 35) through training, capacity building, and funding to establish their own sustainable enterprises (businesses) or connect them to formal employment. Opportunities posted on the hub are, therefore, typically ongoing enrolments for training, internships, scholarships, job postings, funding or capacity-building activities.
The specific qualification criteria are indicated in the information provided for each program. The general criteria is that one must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
To apply for opportunities of interest in the hub, a user clicks on the ‘Apply Now’ tab and provides their details as will be requested. Once they submit, this information goes to the program implementation partner, who reviews it, and if the candidate is successful, they respond to them and share further details on how to join.
The programs are implemented in different parts of the country. This information is included within the information provided under each program.
Most definitely. We encourage you to share the information on the platform with others who may benefit from it.
Users can reset their password by clicking on the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. They will be prompted to enter their email address associated with their account, and instructions for resetting their password will be sent to them via email.
Opportunities on the platform, including job postings, funding opportunities, training opportunities, internships, and scholarships, are typically posted by program managers, partners, and other relevant stakeholders within the Mastercard Foundation network.
The opportunities are posted as they become available within the programs. Young people are encouraged to visit the Youth Opportunity Hub regularly to check out available opportunities.
