ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The goal of the Young People Economic Empowerment (YPEE) program is to empower young people in communities to create dignified and fulfilling work spaces for empowerment and sustainability through vocational skills building, storytelling, and healing.

The program includes training, mentorship, and development of items like leather products to support the Rebirth of a Queen shelter, among other activities.

The program has not only given young people the platform to learn a skill but also an opportunity to co-create a program that benefits them.

The program started in May 2023 and is ongoing.

WHO QUALIFIES?
The program is open to young women, and especially survivors of gender-based violence.

GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
The program is operating in Kiserian, Kajiado County. 

ABOUT THE IMPLEMENTATION PARTNER
Rebirth of a Queen is a survivor led, feminist and Community Based and Owned Organization (CBO) with a mission to empower and include survivors of sexual and gender based violence and human trafficking in decision making spaces through storytelling, empowerment, education, training and protection. It is based in Kiserian, Kajiado County.
