The objectives of this program is to empower economically disadvantaged young people through identifying their talents and giving them skills to become problem solvers for Africa.
Generally other objectives of the program include:
- To train young people in design thinking to encourage and support them to be innovative.
- To empower young people to create opportunities for themselves and others in their communities by creating solutions using skills learned.
- To promote social inclusion and address societal challenges, such as attitude change among parents and minors towards gifts and talent, and their potential impact on creating opportunities
Here are the activities in the program:
- Talent identification: Conducting assessments to identify participants’ gifts and talents.
- Skill acquisition: Providing them with knowledge of design thinking and how their gifts and talents can be used to create opportunities.
- Social inclusion: Ensuring equal access to education and training for marginalized groups, including girls and young people with disabilities.
- Community engagement: Collaborating with local stakeholders to address social issues such as inequality in education, gender equality, decent work and economic growth.
The program started in May 2023 and is ongoing.
WHO QUALIFIES?
The program is open to young people aged between 12 and 19 years old.
